Research has proven that Adverse Childhood Experiences, including child abuse, affect the health and well-being of our society and increase the risk of suicide, substance abuse, and mental and physical health issues. HB 286 mandates that all school personnel receive training to recognize and report child abuse. This interactive session will review the reasons for this training and will empower participants to better recognize abuse and provide support for children who are abused. It will also review mandatory reporting requirements. Free resources for empowering children to recognize, resist, and report abuse will also be reviewed and discussed.
